Art – Coming Soon
Another way of asking the question.
Some inquiries become words.
Others become colour, form and image.
The paintings gathered here span contemplation, human experience,
abstraction, nature and the questions that have accompanied my writing
and inquiry.

Some paintings and poems arose together. Here image and language
are allowed to meet without requiring one to explain the other.

When image and language arrive together
I have written poetry alongside painting for many years.
In some works the poem and the image belong closely together.
In others they simply share the same moment of inquiry.
These pairings are not intended as explanations of the paintings.
A poem may open another doorway into the work, just as the painting
may reveal something that language cannot contain.
Available Works
Originals and prints
Some original works may become available for purchase.
Selected paintings may also be offered as fine-art prints and,
where appropriate, as editions pairing an image with its accompanying poem.
Not every work shown here will be for sale.
Some belong to private collections, some will remain with the artist,
and others may be made available over time.
The Artist
Painting as another form of inquiry
My writing often begins with a question.
Painting does not always begin that way.
Sometimes there is an image, a movement, a face, a colour or a form
before there is any explanation for it. The work may later enter into
conversation with questions of Consciousness, identity, suffering,
beauty or human experience. Sometimes it simply remains a painting.
I do not want the art to illustrate a philosophy.
I want it to remain free enough to reveal whatever it reveals.
Look
The image does not require a conclusion.
Stay with it.
Notice what draws your attention.
Notice what you bring to what you see.
And allow the work to remain more than its explanation.
